3 Reasons Why I Don't Order Supplements On Amazon

It’s hard enough to know which supplements to take, to research which brands are the “good” ones, and then to remember to take the supplements once you get them. Now you have to worry about where you’re buying your supplements from so that you don’t waste your hard earned money on ones that aren’t legit.

It’s hard work to be healthy. - We get it!

Even if you’re on board for all of it, it can be hard to justify spending a bunch of money on supplements in today's economy. You want the best for yourself and your family but have to make compromises sometimes. That's why many folks are ordering their supplements on Amazon. They want to get the most bang for their buck.

But this is one area I strongly suggest that cheap is not the best compromise to make.

Why I don’t recommend ordering supplements on Amazon

  1. They can be counterfeit and therefore, dangerous.

  2. They can be useless expired products that have been repackaged (disguised) as new.

  3. They can be stolen products released on the black market without any quality control.

How can this be if Amazon is a trusted supplier of most things these days. It’s because the supplement industry is severely under-regulated in the U.S. You think it wouldn’t be so, but sadly it is.

The fact is, it costs money to make quality dietary supplements, most of those quality supplements you can only get directly from the manufacturer or through a doctor.

We all love a good deal but if you’re getting your supplements for really cheap, it’s probably a good sign that the ingredients are either cheaply acquired, made, expired, or at worst, an imitation of the real thing.

Ordering supplements through a website like Amazon, where there is little to no accountability or regulation, could be more dangerous than beneficial.

Where I recommend you order supplements from instead

Here are the companies I trust for myself and my patients, and where I recommend you order your supplements from:

  1. Researched Nutritionals

    • Use our code THMDC to order.

  2. Doctor’s Supplement Store

    • Use our code DT1808 to order.

  3. Fullscript

You can search through their catalogs to find the supplements you’re looking for, and they ship right to your door.

I even have some curated kits created for you to easily order, like my Flu-kit and Back-to-School Kit (through Doctor Supplement’s Store).

Main takeaway

You take supplements to help your body become or stay healthy and they should be chosen from a trusted source. Whether you order them from me or not, it’s important to find a trusted doctor or company to order from.

Do your own research and find what works best for you, but stick to ordering things like electronics and home supplies from Amazon, not your supplements.
